When I click scan, it scans for a split second then goes back to the basic menu?

It just goes to scan then immediately back to the basic menu. I use McAfee Security Center.When I click scan, it scans for a split second then goes back to the basic menu?
Look to see what it is set to scan. It might just be looking at your startup.
