Who agrees that Huckabee and Romney are splitting the Anti-McCain vote?

You can argue whether others are conservative enough or not, but McCain is one who is NOT Conservative:

If Romney doesn't win Michigan, he should get out. If Thompson doesn't win South Carolina, he should get out.

I'm tired of the anti-McCain vote being split (same as Edwards splitting the anti-Hillary vote with Obama).Who agrees that Huckabee and Romney are splitting the Anti-McCain vote?
The republicans are SO all over the map really..I dont think they want to choose anybody till they see who they have to fight on the Dem side.

**but i agree...Edwards is splitting the anti HIllary vote. If he got out, Obama would probably sweep Hillary.Who agrees that Huckabee and Romney are splitting the Anti-McCain vote?
I don't understand who is voting for McCain. Are there a lot of people who are in favor of the war in Iraq and strongly support the surge, but want open borders, hire taxes, liberal judges, etc? The only issue McCain is with the republican party on is the war in Iraq. Who are these people voting for him?

Is it because he's still milking being a war hero after all these years? I think its great he served his country, but that doesn't qualify him to be president. If that was the case we'd just get any veteran and put him as president.

The problem with all the candidates is they all have piences of being a conservative. Huckabee is a social conservative, but not a fiscal conservative. Giuliani is a fiscal conservative, but not a social conservative. Paul is a libertarian.

The only real conservatives are Romney and Thompson, but of the two Romney has more energy, expresses himself better, and has the money to actually win the presidency. The latest polls have Thompson way down in every state, including South Carolina.

That's why I think Thompson should get out now and endorse Romney.
I'm sorry for your pain. I have decided I will vote for Fred Thompson because he is the best Republican candidate to represent my party in the 2008 election. Fred Thompson apply directly to the White House.
Thanks for the link, first of all.

Second, Mike Huckabee is the man who should drop out. His low third in New Hampshire, along with his continual touting of his evangelical credentials, have demonstrated his lack of appeal among moderates and independents. Mitt Romney doesn't have a Very large following of either, but he certainly polls better among both than Huckabee does. The fact that he was competitive in New Hampshire points towards it.

Finally, the real anti-McCain vote lies with Rudy Giuliani. Despite his recent campaign woes, Giuliani is closest in appeal and on the issues with McCain. Any liberal Republicans and independents who don't intend to vote for McCain are on the Giuliani bandwagon.
I don't agree with this assessment. Romney actually leads in REPUBLICAN votes. McCain and Huckabee are similarly NOT conservative. If anyone is splitting votes, it's these two. Why should Romney get out if he doesn't win in Michigan if he leads among Republican voters? He won Wyoming significantly and came in second in NH (by 5%)and Iowa. McCain's biggest boost were the Independents in NH. Sounds like someone doesn't like a challenge.

How come no one is asking who is doing McCain's job and Huckabee's job while they are out campaigning? I want to hear that addressed. At least Mitt had the guts not to run again in MA knowing he wanted to run for the Presidency.

Mitt has had major accomplishments in the private sector turning around companies without layoffs and turning $400 million loss in the Olympics into a $100 million profit. In MA he reduced taxes several times and balanced the budget every year.

Mitt is the best man for the job!!!
no thats like saying edwards and clinton are splitting the anti obama vote, the two have gotten different receptions. Huckabee and Romney and McCain are about on even ground right now, actually there is no single front runner except those 3 in the republican side.
Actually, Romney doesnt take any of Huckabees or McCains votes. its McCain and Huckabee who have similiar supporters.
