How do you split music (cut in half) and add new music straight to it?

So, i need to make music mix for a school concert. The only problem is, i cannot seem to find a way to split the music and play music straight onto it. So its like a mixture of songs on one track.





I use Nero 7 Premium so if anyone has any advice please tell me!How do you split music (cut in half) and add new music straight to it?

the easy way to do this is by using a software called sony sound forge.


or u can use windows movie maker that comes in windows xp itself.
