How do I Play split-screen on Left 4 Dead?

I want to play co-op campaign with my friend. How do i play that with split-screen? So we can both play on the same console.How do I Play split-screen on Left 4 Dead?
When you're at the main screen and both controllers are on, just have the second player hit start. You'll be given a chance to join the game (it'll walk you through the process), and then you can go ahead and start your campaign or versus or whatever. There are two ways. You can play online, or offline.





To play offline, you generally need to have 1 player sign in an XBox Live profile that has a Silver membership - the one that can't connect to Xbox Live.





To do this you follow these instructions:


1) Player 1 selects the source to save data to (as usual) when the game turns on.





2) Player 2 presses ';Start'; on their controller, and it will prompt both players to sign into a profile. My wife and I both have our own profiles, but hers is a Silver membership while mine is Gold.


--- I haven't done this part myself, but if only one player has a profile to log into, whether it is Silver or Gold, I suspect that Player 1 would sign in first, and the other players would then choose the same profile. It should log them in as that profile, but display a number next to it.


---For instance Scott would become Scott (2) or something like that.





Now, it if a Silver membership is used, it may ask if you want to sign out and use the membership that is Gold, so that you can play online. Say yes or no, whichever you prefer.





3) Select Campaign at the top, and choose ';Friends Only'; server. If you are using a “Silver” membership, then it told you that you were offline; this means no one else can join, just you, and any other 3 players using your consol. However, if you are online, and you have friends registered, they can see you online, and jump into an available spot to play while you’re in the middle of a campaign.


4) Now, I think there’s a way to disable that, but I don’t have the game with me right now so I’m not sure the steps. I think that, similar to using a “Friends Only” server, there is a “Private Game” server, where you can invite people to play, but if you don’t invite them, they can’t jump into your game without your permission.





Whatever the case, make sure that your server is not a “Public” Server if you don’t want others joining.

Well first once you get to the main screen and sign in your friend needs to sign in and press start, etc.

2. After you do that you just pick your character


3, And Last you just click ';Edit game (or something like that) and pick your Place, level, chapter, etc.
