Why is BAH split in half between the 1st and 15th?

I don't know of anyone who pays rent on the 15th. Shouldn't they give it all to you on the 1st?Why is BAH split in half between the 1st and 15th?
It has to be paid like that because it's a daily entitlement....like there has to be a way to calculate how to pay you for 5 days of BAH when you wouldn't get BAH ordinarily...

A way to pro-rate it.

Can't be done if it's counted and paid as a monthly entitlement. Why is BAH split in half between the 1st and 15th?
Call finance. You can actually have it changed to be like that. Thats what we did when we were stationed in Alaska...but then had it switched to be equal
I pay my house twice a month because i am on an equity accelerator program so they pull out half on the first and half on the 15th. this way my interest is a bit less instead of the full payment each month and they take out a little bit more and i make extra payment towards principle.
I think the system adds your entire normal paycheck, divides by two and there you are. What I did was send an allotment to the same bank account, it came on the first. Had a truck payment and rent due on the first and it made it easier
What if they gave it all to you on the 15th? It doesn't matter. They are trying to keep both of your paychecks nearly equal. Every civilian company that pays twice a month does the same thing.
Actually pay is split between the 15th and 1st. The 15th's pay is for you working the 1st to 15th. The 1st's pay is for you working from the 16th to the EOM. Some people only get paid on the 1st though as it is an option. The pay you receive includes all pay and allowances that you are eligible for on both days. The paperwork it would cause to only pay it for everyone on the 1st it would be incredible. If you pay your rent then set it up on allotment and then it will only be paid on the 1st.
I dont know why military finance does anything they do. But you could go talk to finance about it, maybe they can get you a waiver to get it all on the first.

Good Luck! =]
they do it so people ask questions.
