My wife and I are splitting. We don't have children, we are young, and don't own any properties.?

Only thing is we have a few credit card debts together. But will mutually split that in half. What is the easiest and fastest way to divorce in california without a lawyer. My wife and I are splitting. We don't have children, we are young, and don't own any properties.?
My divorce cost me less than $20.00. Go to the courthouse, ask for Dissolution papers, the clerk will give you a packet at a time. MAKE COPIES BEFORE you fill them out, in case you make a mistake. They don't accept errors, so make sure everything is filled out properly, do not leave anything blank.

The date of the separation is the legal date: bills incurred after that date are the responsibility of the card user only.

Things are now on friendly terms, and just to keep it like that make sure you each write a letter of what each of you is assuming responsibility for and each sign each other's letter. Write the name of the credit card, the credit card number, original debt, the balance.

Make a copy of your letter to give to her, and she should do the same, so there should be 4 letters, each signed by you two. If your name is on a card she kept make sure you call the card company and let them know what you two are doing. You can each apply for new cards with only your name.

Credit card debts when incurred as a couple are owed by the couple, even if you pay the balance, or if she does. So if you decide later not to pay a credit card balance you will be messing up her credit also.

Once you filled out the packet take it back to the clerk, she'll review for errors or omissions. If everything is okay she'll give you another packet.

Because you are representing yourself, you write ';In-Pro-Per'; where they ask for the attorney's name.

You have to get an ad on the paper under ';Public Notice'; letting all those concern know you are getting a divorce. I didn't know that section of the news paper existed until my divorce. That's to give fair warning to others that if someone had business with you as a couple, or if there are children issues they have been notified.

It's all straight and forward. You can also have a paralegal fill out the papers for you and all you have to do is sign them and deliver them to court, that's what my son did for $500.00.

You can ask a friend or hire the Sheriff Department to deliver your intention of divorce papers to your wife, that's call ';serve papers';.

Well, that's it in a nutshell.

Good luck to each of youMy wife and I are splitting. We don't have children, we are young, and don't own any properties.?

is there any more ways by which you can compromise and not end up divorcing??

love is a decision and not a feeling :)

just hope you can go back to where and how you first met.. and how much love there is...

but then again... there'll forever be reasons to things and people we don't want in our lives anymore... :(
Divorces have become so pre-packaged anymore, its not hard at all. You just need to get a few papers together.
generally most of the laws r in favor of women. beware of her as she can turn ur life upside down, even after divorse.

just be very careful with her and her lawyer. as she is young she will some time in future force u to pay from ur pocket for her. be strong don't concede and find a very good lawyer who can also help u over the years.
Go to the court house and both sign the appropriate papers and it is dissolved...yours is a clean case without baggage....remain friends if possible...
If you want a divorce, then I don't see how you can ';legally'; divorce without having a lawyer involved. There should be an easy way to do it if you both agree and have no major issues involved in the seperation.
Just get up and walk away....eventually you will need a lawyer for the legal divorce though. Good luck!
