Does your children split there Social Security money when one is born?

my 4 year old was getting 356 a month now I have a newborn and recieved a letter saying each child will recieve 178 a month. Why are they splitting ,there are more children now...does not make sense to me.Does your children split there Social Security money when one is born?
I'm not sure how it's supposed to work, but that hardly seems fair. Then again, fairness doesn't seem to be that important to Social Security...Does your children split there Social Security money when one is born?
GET A JOB!!!!
it dosent matter i know it seems like you would get more dosent it! It all depends on why he's getting it and what not and also if you make more income later on or what ever they will take some away they just want every reason not to give it to you
you only get a fixed amount. It's a policy to discourage people from having kids they cannot afford just to get money from the gov't. I don't mean to be rude, but that's the purpose of the policy.
